Description
A woman sits low in the frame, one knee drawn up, forearms crossed over it and hands hanging loose. Her head tips back and, where her face should be, the paint thins and gives way to the pale blue field behind her. The red dress gathers in heavy folds around her hips.
The missing face is deliberate and recurs across the series. Removing it turns a portrait into a posture: what stays legible is the body’s attitude, guarded and tired and self-contained, rather than an individual likeness.
The painting was acquired for the national collection following the assessment report of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport’s public call for art acquisitions in 2022, and is now held in the Archive of Kosovo.
