Description
A figure is doubled over at the waist, head and torso completely hidden under the red dress, which falls over her like a sheet. Only her bare legs and feet emerge below. From the fabric hangs an empty wire hanger, still swinging.
Against the grey-white ground the red mass reads almost as a landform. The hanger is the tell: the dress is no longer being worn so much as carried, and its weight is what has folded the body in half.
